Timothy Adegoke: Court Remands Adedoyin, Six Others In Prison Over OAU Student’s Death


An Osun State High Court sitting in Osogbo, on Thursday remanded Rahman Adedoyin and six other suspects over the death of Timothy Adegoke.

Rahman Adedoyin who is the Chairman of Hilton Hotel, Ile-Ife, Osun State, the last known place that Timothy Adegoke lodged prior to his death is standing trial for the gruesome murder of the student in his hotel room.

Adegoke, an MBA student of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, died under suspicious circumstances at the hotel.

Adegoke, who has since been buried, had arrived at Ile-Ife to write his final examination and lodged in the hotel before he was killed.

Adedoyin’s son, who is the manager at the hotel, is also a suspect and still at large.

OAU Student: Police Withdraw Murder Case Against Hotelier Adedoyin



The Nigerian police have withdrawn its case against an hotelier, Ramon Adedoyin and six others, who were charged with the  alleged murder of Timothy Adegoke, a master's degree student of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU).

Adegoke d!ed in controversial circumstances at Hotels and Resorts in Ile-Ife on November 6, 2021, three days after he lodged at the hotel to sit for an examination at the school’s distance learning centre in Moro. He was subsequently buried by the hotel management in a shallow grave without the knowledge of his family or the police.

The hotel owner and six other suspects were arrested and charged with his m#rder. However, the police told an Abuja High Court on Monday, February 7, that the Force wished to discontinue all proceedings in the case for “further investigation”.

According to the case summary and proof of evidence earlier filed by the police, Adedoyin is being charged with illegally disposing of Adegoke’s body, altering and cancelling his payment receipt and removal of the hotel’s CCTV cameras with intent to d#stroy evidence.

But in a ‘Notice of Discontinuation of Charge No.CR/015/2022 brought pursuant to Section 108 of Administration of Criminal Act 2015’, on February 7, 2022, the police told the court to discontinue the matter.
