2023: Peter Obi Knows He Can’t Win, He’s Only Playing A Game – Anambra State Governor, Soludo

Anambra State governor, Charles Soludu has said the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi can’t win the 2023 presidential election.

Mr Soludu claimed that Obi is only playing the game knowing fully well that he won’t win.

Let’s be clear: Peter Obi knows that he can’t and won’t win. He knows the game he is playing, and we know too; and he knows that we know,” the article reads in part.

“The game he is playing is the main reason he didn’t return to APGA. The brutal truth (and some will say, God forbid) is that there are two persons/parties seriously contesting for president: the rest is exciting drama!

“That many Americans may not like the fact that Joe Biden (79 years) and Donald Trump (76 years) are two frontrunners for president in their parties does not remove the fact that if both of them emerge as candidates, definitely one of them will be president in 2024.

“As my brother, I wish him well and even pray for him. I told him during his courtesy call that my prayer is that himself or Prof Umeadi of APGA would win, why not?

“That is from my heart, but I also told him that my head and facts on the ground led me to know that it’s probability is next to zero (what I cannot say before you, I won’t say behind you).

“So I already told him my opinion. Indeed, there is no credible pathway for him near the first two positions, and if care is not taken, he won’t even near the third position

Anambra State Governor Obiano Lead Protest Against IPOB’s Sit-at-home Order, Asks Traders To Reopen Shops

Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State on Monday led a protest against the continued sit-at-home order by the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra.

POB had on July 30 ordered a sit-at-home in the region.

It threatened to shut down economic activities in the region, adding that violators of the order would be visited with violence.

On August 9, IPOB started the enforcement of the lockdown.

The sit-at-home order is to protest against the arrest and detention of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

However, on August 13, IPOB stated that the Ghost Monday would no longer hold every Monday based on the directive from its leader, Kanu who said it should be observed only on the day he appears in court.

Despite the suspension, the majority of South-East residents still observe the order, shunning business and commercial activities.

Anambra State had also witnessed some levels of compliance with this directive.

On Monday, the state government moved to some streets in Awka, the state capital to enforce the return to businesses in the state.

The governor, who led members of his executive council during the protest, visited banks and markets in the state capital.

At Eke Awka market, the governor asked traders to open their shops.

He said, “The state must avoid giving urchins the chance to take over the helm of affairs. I chose to lead from the front to end this fear of molestation, harassment, intimidation.”

It was gathered that socio-economic activities, including transportation, banking and market activities sprang up around 1pm in the area in earnest.

Obiano had on Sunday threatened to seal banks and punish market and motor-park leaders who would dare stay at home on Mondays or any day so declared by the Indigenous People of Biafra.

Go To Hell With Your Bags Of Rice, We Don’t Need It -Anambra Pensioners Tells Governor Obiano

Governor Willie Obiano has received a heavy blow from retirees in Anambra state after he gave them his usual Christmas bag of rice.

The pensioners rejected the annual bags of rice given to them by the state governor, Willie Obiano, saying all they want is their retirement benefits paid or nothing more. According to them, the bags of Rice given to them every Christmas was a ”Greek gift”.

The state chairman of Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Dr Anthony Ugozor, who spoke to newsmen on behalf of other pensioners in the state on Wednesday December 9, said that the last gratuity that was paid to them was in 2017. He said if they were paid their gratuity, they will have no need to be collecting bags of rice from the state government every year and that they will have enough money to buy the type of rice they want.

“They give us rice at the end of every year, but the gift of rice is not constitutional. It is a gift which the government is not mandated to give.

If the pension is reviewed as and when due and harmonisation done as it should be done and arrears paid when it is supposed to be paid and we are not given rice, we will be more comfortable because we will have enough money to buy the type of rice we want and still have enough money to attend to other needs.

It is unfortunate that once somebody retires in Nigeria, he is regarded as deadwood because we can neither embark on strike nor give the government an ultimatum. The only thing we can do is to go on a hunger strike, which is even detrimental to our health.

Everything government is doing concerning pensioners is mere pretence and exploitative and that is why I say that no government is a true lover of pensioners, be it federal, state, or local government. ” Ugozor said
