Naira Marley And Sam Larry Released After Meeting Bail Condition Over Mohbad's Death

 

The Lagos State Police Command has released singer Naira Marley and his close associate, Samson Erinfolami Balogun, known as Sam Larry, after meeting their bail conditions.

Both men were released on Friday evening November 17. Recall that a Magistrate’s Court sitting in Yaba, Lagos State, on Monday, November 6, 2023, granted the duo bail in the sum of N20m with three responsible duties.

Both men were arrested and arraigned before the court over their alleged complicity in the death of Naira Marley’s former signee, Mohbad, who died in controversial circumstances on September 12.

On November 6, the court granted them bail. The magistrate, Adeola Olatunbosun, told the defendants to submit their passports and ordered that they are to report weekly to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti.

A Magistrate Court sitting in Yaba, Lagos State has remanded controversial singer Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, and Lagos socialite, Balogun Eletu, aka Sam Larry, in police custody. hi

Both of them were remanded on Wednesday for 21 days after the Lagos State Police Command pleaded with the court to remand them for 30 days pending the completion of their investigation into the death of Naira Marley’s former signee, Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka Mohbad.

However, the police earlier on Wednesday declared singer, Owodunni Ibrahim, aka Primeboy, wanted and N1 million bounty was put on his head for his refusal to honour their invitation in connection with the death of Mohbad.

Naira Marley Has Been Arrested — Lagos Police Say

According to the Nigerian Police spokesperson, Benjamin, Naira Marley has been arrested over the death of Mohbad.

Naira Marley returned to Nigeria this night and has been taken into custody, the Lagos PPRO confirms.

He made this known via his official X platform.

Nigerian Singer, Naira Marley Becomes NDLEA Ambassador

Nigerian controversial singer and songwriter, Azeez Adeshina Fashola, known as Naira Marley has become an ambassador to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to campaign against drug abuse in the country.

This was made known by the spokesperson for the NDLEA, Femi Babafemi in a statement on Thursday.

He said that Naira Marley was well received by the NDLEA Chairman/Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd.) when the artiste paid a visit to the National Headquarters of the agency.

According to Babafemi, the meeting was aimed at deliberating on effective strategies to combat the issue of illicit drugs in Nigeria.

“Music star, Naira Marley in Abuja to declare support for the War Against Drug Abuse on Thursday 17th August 2023,” he wrote.

“Watch out for the video of his message to Marlians and Nigerian youths here tomorrow,” he said.

Naira Marley in a video shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, said he would like to urge his fans, the ‘Marlians’ and the Nigerian youth to stop doing drugs because it is not good for their well-being.

“Let us all stop substance abuse in any form. I have keyed into this campaign to support the NDLEA to stop drugs on the streets. Please, join us as drug abuse is not good,” the 32-year-old said.
