It Takes An Extraordinary Man Like Governor Ugwuanyi to Revolutionize I.M.T The Way He Has Done In Enugu – Nnaemeka Charles Eze

A member of Enugu State Basic Education Board, Hon. Nnaemeka Charles Eze has revealed some of the tremendous efforts of His Excellency, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi in Enugu State, particularly, the Institute Of Management And Technology.

Hon. Eze who was a guest at the commissioning of the many lifetime projects carried out by the current administration in the institute, said although the governor is not awash with cash, Ugwuanyi has been able to manage the little resources at his disposal.

"His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Lawrence Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi is the political Savior Enugu State has always prayed and long waited for in the State. Prior to His administration, I.M.T Enugu was not in a good state – both in infrastructure and otherwise.

"As a matter of fact, the people had given up until Gburugburu came and restored the people’s hope.

Today, we have first class state of the art facilities at the Institute Of Management And Technology, Enugu. Truth be told, Gburugburu has transformed education in our dear state and given it the #gburustouch.”

Hon. Eze went further to highlight some of the legacy projects executed and commissioned some days ago in the school;

*Block of ultra-modern offices for the Registry Division.

*Block of 15 ultra-modern class rooms on suspended floors with seating capacity of 1,224 students.

*Block of fully furnished ultra-modern Academic staff office complex comprising 60 offices with intercom facilities.

*A world class Medical Centre with all necessary appurtenances for the provision of quality medical services to staff and students of IMT, Enugu.

“It didn’t end there, our dear Governor has ordered the Commissioner of works to return to site and perfect all pending projects including completing the construction of roads within the school. This is after he approved an additional one hundred million naira (N100, 000 000. 00) to I.M.T. Please, feel free to go and verify everything I have said. They are there for the public to see. It was under Ugwuanyi’s administration that I.M.T was elevated from 27th position to 7th position in the country and 2nd best state polytechnic in Nigeria. The school has also enjoyed some accreditations under this administration. Special shout out to Chief Mrs. Ifeoma Nwobodo, who is the chairman, governing council of the institute and also to the Rector, Prof. Uche Nweze for their commitment and dedication in piloting the affairs of the school. Enugu state stays in the hands of God,” said Eze.

2023: Why Governor Ugwuanyi May be Chosen as Southeast Presidential Candidate - Actor, Pete Edochie Reveals

Veteran Nigerian Actor, Pete Edochie has urged South East Leaders, especially Governors to put the interest of the region ahead of their personal interests. Edochie who gave this advice in a video interview with NANI BOI TV monitored by Zebra News, also encouraged the governors to have regular meetings that can bring about development and transformation in the South East.

Recall that the South East Governors had different times in 2021 held meetings on the way forward as regards open ranching in the South East amongst other pertinent issues. Reacting to the meeting, Edochie has this to say, "I am praying for a lot of things. Matthew 7 versus 7 says; 'ask and you shall receive.' On that note, I'm begging God to help South Eastern governors. I do hear most times that the Northern Governors are always having meetings and whatever the outcome is, they implement for us all. What stops South Eastern governors from doing same? Who really did this to us?"

He continues, "However, one day I heard that the southern governors will hold their regular meeting at Asaba. Some of my colleagues informed me that what I had been praying for was about to come to pass. As God may have it, the meeting indeed held at Asaba successfully and all the Igbo governors were in attendance. I was so excited because some important issues were discussed. They jointly agreed that it's high time Herdsmen looked for a ranch to start rearing their animals because they were already causing lot of damages, especially to people's farmlands."

Reacting to two of the subsequent meetings that were held in Lagos and Enugu respectively, where many of the governors were physically absent except Enugu State Governor, the Anambra born actor said; "Eastern governors should understand that they need to lead from the front, while the people follow." He went further to extol Ugwuanyi for making himself available at all the meetings.

"After the meeting at Asaba, they agreed to hold the next one in Lagos. However, it was only Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi that was present at that subsequent meeting. Other governors sent representatives."

"It is important to note that, it is not all fights that a mother fights for her child. How could a meeting concerning your people be scheduled and you will not be present to fight for their rights? You all came out to the one held at Asaba and we were all excited about it, then came the one of Lagos and you did not honour it. The absence of other Igbo Governors at the Lagos held meeting, really saddened us. Only Enugu State Governor was physically present."

"Another one was held at Enugu State closer to all the Eastern Governors, yet they didn't make it in persons, but sent representatives again. Well, maybe there was a reason behind them boycotting these meetings but we the indigenes are not happy with the outcome. As much as we are trying to see if we can get an Igbo President for 2023, if an Igbo governor is to be picked and Ugwuanyi makes it, would you blame him? He is the only one that has shown concern, making it obvious that whatever concerns ndi Igbo is of great importance to him. This is not how it ought to be, let all the Eastern governors have the good of Ndi Igbos in their minds. They are our hopes for better lives of Ndi Igbo. I also want to sincerely appreciate Governor Ugwuanyi for his unavoidable presence in all the meetings held. He was also the first to implement the outcome of the meeting in his state." He validated.

Enugu State Governor Ugwuanyi, Has Turn Things Around In Educational Sector – Nnaemeka Charles Eze – Member, ENSUBEB

When Talking about education, Is More than just To read and write, functional education includes the total transformation of a fertile mind into the totality of a man’s personality; thus for school pupils in Enugu state, going to school is not just to learn how to read and write; but how they will become better persons imbued and bristling with patriotism for the development of their immediate society.

This is so, because the Executive Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has not only turned things around in the education sector, he has made education well rounded and attractive with modern equipment and infrastructure.

Member 1V, of Enugu state Universal Basic Education Board, Nnaemeka Charles Eze while hosting some journalists in Enugu State, said education in Enugu state has gotten a massive boost. In his words, “there has been total transformation of Basic Education under the leadership of our education friendly governor, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi. It had never been this good and it is very verifiable. This has been made possible through the partnership between Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) and Enugu State government who is always committed to paying their counterpart funds.”

In furtherance to highlighting the impact of Ugwuanyi’s administration on education in Enugu State through the office of the Executive Chairman of ENSUBEB, Chief Ikeje Asogwa, the author said; “Under the leadership of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Enugu State Universal Basic Education Board (ENSUBEB) has completed a total of 1,205 school projects.

This is verifiable and most of these schools are equipped with modern learning facilities such as desks, marker boards, chairs, instructional materials, Celling fans, toilet facilities, amongst others. Enugu state has revived sports in Basic education. The schools have modern sports equipment and are presently having a very interesting and colorful football competition across the state. I repeat; it had never been this good in basic Education, never”

“One of the first things ENSUBEB executive Chairman, Chief Ikeje Asogwa did on assumption of office, was to seek approval for recruitment of teachers as the system lacked competent teachers to handle the pupils. Without hesitation, Governor Ugwuanyi graciously approved the recruitment of 3000 teachers and few years after, another recruitment exercise took place and today, I make bold to say that under his administration, ENSUBEB has recruited a total number 5030 teachers after series of tests and interviews.

This number is about double the total number of teachers the system had before Ugwuanyi came on board. These teachers are paid promptly and they undergo constant training and retraining. Gburugburu made all these possible and special recognition and appreciation to the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Abuja. They have been very supportive.” Eze said.
