Comedian Acapella Gifts N500,000 Each to Winners of Naija Heirs of Comedy Competition

  

Two emerging comedians, Uche Divine also known as Funny Itch, and Confidence Tamunosusu better referred to as Chaka Chaka has gotten the sum of 500,000 naira each from long time stand-up comedian, actor and broadcaster, Acapella. Funny Itch and Chaka Chaka was declared winners after an extensive competition that saw ten other brave and funny comedians battle for fame and the grand prize of half a million naira.


The widely publicized competition which held in Lagos at the Terra Culture Event Center witnessed a massive turned out as the hall was filled with excited fans and well-wishers of the contestants.


Acapella keeping to his promise by gifting the two young stars the cash prize urged them to be of good ambassadors, while avoiding situations that can slow or pull their career down.

The reality show which was put together by the star comedian, was to help to help discover and empower up and coming Stand-Up comedians, give them a platform to sell their crafts and be the next celebrity comedian, Acepella Naija Heirs of Comedy is an initiative that is poised to encourage creativity and originality from new Stand-Up comics.


Although, there were over a hundred entries, only ten comedians made it, the ten was then selected to perform before a live audience who determined the winners with their votes. The host comedian, Acapella was not only present to witness the event, he was there to lift the spirit of all the contestants and also ensure the best gets the winnings, and he also entertained the audience by the side.

Speaking to reporters after the event, Acapella while expressing to the media and everyone that participated in the success of the competition said, those who didn’t had the chance to be a part should be hopeful as the show continues next year, he also said contestants who lost out are free to come try again adding that the Acapella Naija Heirs of Comedy is an annual event that has come to stay.


“I am super excited at the level of success we recorded here today, to be honest, I wasn’t expect this huge turn-out, as you can see, it was shut down, the contestants were not only motivated, they were elated and had the golden chance of expressing themselves through their talents. And that is what we are here to achieve, look out for these fresh talents and give them the desire platform to shine”

“I want to say thank you to the media, participants and contestants, including everyone that made this show a success. A huge thanks to team, you guys are awesome, once again, congratulation to the two winners, Funny Itch and Chaka Chaka, go into your industry and dominate, to the other contestants, consider yourself a winner, getting the opportunity to be on that stage is all you need to break free, so don’t lose hope, you all are talented, let’s do it again in 2023. Thank You” He appreciated.

Comedian Acapella Becomes NDLEA Celebrity Drug Free Club Ambassador


Popular comedian and OAP Acapella have just been unveiled as one of the celebrity ambassador for NDLEA Celebrity Drug Free Club.


He shared a picture of him with caption: Yours Truly Is The Latest Inducted Member Of The NDLEA Celebrity Drug Free Club.. #AbstainFromDrug

"I am pleased to be amongst the celebrities that will be championing this great course, it is sad and really disturbing how young Nigerians abuse drugs, I want them to know that there is absolutely nothing to gain in drugs, it will rather destroy your future and life, stay away from drugs, say no to drugs, live a healthy life" he added.

The is an initiative by NDLEA to stop the abuse of drugs in the country.

Exclusive! Photos: Comedian Acapella Survives Car Accident

Comedian Acapella was rescued from the hands of death on his way back from Abuja at about 5pm yesterday

A source said the comedian was on his way to the Abuja airport coming back to Lagos when he had the accident along side the Uba driver who was driving him to the airport.

"He was on his way back to Lagos from Abuja, he just went off the phone when he noticed that the driver was struggling with the steering,  and the last thing he remembered was calling Jesus and that was it". The source said

According to his Publicist who confrimed the report said:

"Yes, he had an accident but to the glory of God, he is doing fine, and same with the Uba driver,  he sustained some injury and he is presently receiving treatment, we wish to inform his fans that he is doing just fine"

Julieth Ibrahim, Julius Agwu, Aki, Others Step Out For Acapella's My Mic and I

While, it was indeed a, One Man, One Mic, One Stage event with comedian Acapella as promised on 29th of October 2017 at the Shell Hall Muson Center Onikan Lagos. It was also a night of glitz and glamour, a night to remember as one man took everybody by storm with his ever first comedy show outside the church. 


Known for his annual comedy show “Acapella Comedy Goes To Church”, but this time he was Acapella in a different dimension. Soon, the event hall, was filled to the brim, as fans of the abia born comedian, were gathered in their thousands,  at about 7pm, the show started, dressed in an all white ensemble with a gold crested microphone, Acapella who mounted the stage got the crowd laughing and rolling for one straight hour none stop. 


The event had the presence of great personalities from all spheres of entertainment industry, such as Chinedu Ikedieze, popularly known as Aki, Julius Agwu, Julieth Ibrahim and her man, Ice Berg Slim, Funny Bone, Pencil,  Akpororo, Pastor Goody Goody etc. Music was by former Five Star act, now AlterPlate Music label boss Harrysong, and other top Nigerian music stars and Djs. The host of the night was, Okey Bakassi and OAP Ore, better known as Oreginal of  Lagos Talk fm, while the event was packaged by Purple Roof entertainment.

Comedian Acapella Tour UK With Aki and Paw Paw


The Rib cracker, OAP and compere was on tour in United Kingdom with one of Nollywood comic actors, the duo of Chinedu Ikedieze and Osita Iheme, popularly called, Aki and Pawpaw for their show, Aki and Pawpaw Live in UK. He toured some cities with fellow comedians like ,Elenu, Youngest Oldman, AY and more.

They were also hosted by Nigerian Footballer, Emmanuel Emenike in his London Home.
