Court Remands Kogi Pastor For Selling Bulletproof Water

 


A Chief Magistrate’s Court sitting in Lokoja, Kogi State has remanded Pastor Peter Michonza of the New Jerusalem Deliverance Ministry, at the Federal Correctional Centre Kabba over alleged culpable homocide.

 
 The suspect was arrested by the Department of State Security (DSS) on September 19, 2022 over allegations of running labour wards for pregnant women in his church located at Ageva in Okene LGA of the state and selling “bulletproof” water to people.

The Kogi State Government sealed his church on Monday, September 26, 2022, and moved out over 100 people mainly young women who claimed they came for prayer and had been spent months at the place, including others mentally unstable placed under chains.

The presiding Chief Magistrate, Abdul A Umar, gave the order on Thursday, October 6, following the ex parte application of DSS to remand the accused person to enable them to continue further investigations.

In an ex parte application, the accused person was said to have committed culpable homocide, causing miscarriage and impersonation punishable under sections 224,232,433 and 325 of the Kogi State Penal Code.

The suspect would be charged to the High of Justice after the preliminary investigations are concluded.

Timothy Adegoke: Court Remands Adedoyin, Six Others In Prison Over OAU Student’s Death


An Osun State High Court sitting in Osogbo, on Thursday remanded Rahman Adedoyin and six other suspects over the death of Timothy Adegoke.

Rahman Adedoyin who is the Chairman of Hilton Hotel, Ile-Ife, Osun State, the last known place that Timothy Adegoke lodged prior to his death is standing trial for the gruesome murder of the student in his hotel room.

Adegoke, an MBA student of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, died under suspicious circumstances at the hotel.

Adegoke, who has since been buried, had arrived at Ile-Ife to write his final examination and lodged in the hotel before he was killed.

Adedoyin’s son, who is the manager at the hotel, is also a suspect and still at large.
