Use Billions Of Naira You’re Spending On Ammunition To Build Schools For Bandits – Sheirkh Gumi Tells Buhari

Self-mediator for bandits, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, says he has spoken to many bandits and they have agreed to lay down their weapons and embrace education.

The Kaduna State-based controversial Islamic cleric, stated this while speaking to journalists during an inspection visit to the Sheikh Uthman Bin Fodio Centre at Kagarko Grazing Reserve Kohoto Village, donated by Sultan Bello Mosque Foundation on Monday.

The Islamic scholar who has been at the forefront of advocating negotiations for the bandits said the government should spend billions on building schools for the gunmen instead of spending it on security hardware.

He also has refuted allegations credited to him that declaring bandits as terrorists would end Nigeria, saying he was quoted out of context.

The cleric explained that ninety-nine percent of herdsmen are not involved in banditry and if the state now says all herdsmen are terrorists; Nigeria will have problems all over.

Speaking on the school, he said the centre contains six classrooms, which would be engaged for 24 hours daily.

“The herdsmen take cattle for grazing in the morning, come back and study in the evening. Before then, we would run primary and secondary schools at intervals.

“We have a hospital also at the centre as well as an economic booster on showing them how to feed their animals.

“If we can replicate this everywhere, Nigeria will be in peace,” he submitted,” he said

In his remarks, the Fulani Chief of the community, Ardo Ahmed Tahiru said they are excited about the project.

Also speaking, Imam Tafa Dahiru noted that the project has united the community and they are all full of joy.

Similarly, a Christian cleric in the community, Luka Mai Ungwar commended Sheikh Gumi for the gesture, saying that he is delighted that their children don’t need to travel far before going to school.

God Didn’t Make Mistake, Repent And Give Your Life To Christ – Pastor Adeboye Tells Transgenders

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye has condemned transgenders across the world, urging them to “repent and begin to walk in the path of righteousness again”.

The clergyman in a post shared on his Facebook page explained that God created mankind as male and female but some people still feel the need to change their gender.

Adeboye stressed that God doesn’t make mistakes and that God is not an author of confusion.

“Our God is the God of distinction; He is not an author of confusion. A man chooses to be confused when he does not want to do the right thing as ordered by God and so pretends that he does not know what God wants from him. When God creates, He does so with precision and purpose. He created lights for a purpose and darkness for another.

“God, in His infinite wisdom, created mankind as male and female, yet some people feel the need to change their gender as though He did not know what He was doing when He created them!

“God does not make mistakes. Our God is the perfect God of distinction. He created the day for work and the night to rest. If for any reason we do not rest in one night, the following day should compensate for the loss of rest.

“Failure to observe rest produces stress, sickness and ultimately death. Little wonder life expectancy in the last fifty years has been on the decline.

Achievements that should normally have taken forty years to accomplish are realised in fewer than thirty, at the price of dying earlier.

“A lot of people have mixed many profane things with the sacred. The God of distinction will never lower His standards. It is our duty to live up to His standards.

“Look into your life and see where you have compromised your values as a Christian. Repent and begin to walk in the path of righteousness again,” he added.

Drop Your Presidencial Ambition And Allow Younger Politician Succed Buhari – Governor Yahaya Bello Tells Bola Tinubu

The National Leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and former Lagos State governor, Bola Tinubu has been advised by Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State to drop his purported presidential ambition for younger politicians to take over from President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.

Tinubu, Although yet to declare for the 2023 presidency played a key role in the formation of the ruling party and victory of President Buhari in 2015, but many believes the body language of the former governor of Lagos state shows he may join the presidential race.

It is also believed in some quarters that there is an agreement within the ruling party that Tinubu would succeed President Buhari in 2023.

But Governor Bello in an interview said whatever agreeement Tinubu made with the president is not binding on members of the party.

Bello, who plans to announce his presidential ambition soon said Tinubu has paid his bellodues and should allow his children to take over in 2023.

“Senator Tinubu is one of our leaders and I respect him so much. He has played a very significant role in Nigeria’s democracy and has built a lot of people. He has paid his dues, and with all respect as a son to him, my simple advice is that it is time for him to allow his children to take over the mantle of leadership. And let us do it to the glory of God and his admiration. He should see that those children he raised are now doing well. Let him see how we would manage this country in his lifetime.

“He has a right to contest, nobody is questioning that. I always urge everybody to respect him for the roles he has played in this country’s democracy. He is a man of integrity, to be candid,” the governor said.

The governor also dispelled the idea that Tinubu may pull out of the party if he does not get the 2023 presidential ticket of the APC.

Bello said, “You don’t build a house and destroy it. I don’t think Tinubu would do that. I think he has grown past that. He is an elder statesman who will not say that the country should be destroyed in his lifetime, not even after his demise. So I don’t see him doing that. I don’t see that happening at all.

On his presidential ambition, Bello said he would give an affirmative answer to those mounting pressure on him to run for the presidency at the appropriate time.
