28-year-old Man Arrested For Stabbing His Nigerian Mother To Death In London

 



Detectives on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, charged Nicholas Aina, of Auriel Avenue, Dagenham, with the murder of his mother, 64-year-old Caroline Adeyelu.

He was also charged with the attempted murder of another woman in her 30s.

Police were called to the scene of the stabbing on Auriel Avenue at 9.35pm on Sunday, October 30, 2022, where Ms Adeleyu was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other woman also suffered stab injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. Her condition is not life threatening.

Aina appeared at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday November 1, and was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on Thursday, said police.

Samantha Southey, 27, who lives in the adjacent road from the incident, said: “I just heard a bit of commotion last night. The police knocked on the door and said they caught the person. It’s a little bit frightening. It’s getting a little too close to home.”

Detective Superintendent Richard Vandenbergh said: “It appears this was an isolated incident confined to a single address.”

He also added that the Dagenham stabbing ‘is a truly shocking incident.

50 Years Old Man Strangle His Wife To Death In Ogun

 


Ogun State Police Command have arrested a 51 years old man, Oluranti Badejo for allegedly beating his 40 years old wife, Folasde Badejo to death

The suspect was arrested following a report lodged at Mowe divisional headquarters by the younger sister of the deceased, who reported that she received an information from her elder sister’s daughter that her elder sister who lives with her husband at NO 7, Madam Felicia street, Orimerunmu, Mowe has been beaten to death by her husband.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi told journalists that, upon the report, the DPO Mowe division, SP Folake Afeniforo, quickly dispatched the divisional detectives to the scene where the suspect was promptly arrested.


Oyeyemi said the lifeless body of the victim was evacuated to the mortuary in Sagamu for post mortem examination.

The PPRO explained that preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect strangled the deceased during a scuffle as a result of minor disagreement.

He added that, having realized that he has killed his wife, the suspect used hot iron to burn parts of the body of the deceased, so as to look as if she was electrocuted.

But unfortunately for him, their 8 year-old daughter was there and witnessed the whole thing. It was the daughter who testified that she saw her father strangling her deceased mother to death.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole, has directed that the suspect be taken to Homicide section of the state Criminal Investigation Departments for further investigation and diligent prosecution.

Tragedy As Soldiers Torture Police Inspector To Death In Lagos


Tragedy has occurred after an inspector with the Lagos police command has die

 Report says the victim identified as Orukpe Monday died after he and his colleagues were allegedly tortured by a group of soldiers at the Trade Fair area of the state.

According to report, on Thursday, August 4th, soldiers travelling to the Ojo military cantonment came down on police operatives coordinating traffic on the highway after a disagreement.

Witnesses said the soldiers who were in a hurry confronted policemen on duty and an argument ensued.

The argument sparked a fight between the policemen and the soldiers who overpowered them and bundled two officers, including Mr Orukpe, to their barracks.

One policeman was able to flee the scene after struggling with the soldiers with his gun and shooting in the air.

Mr Orukpe died at the military hospital Thursday afternoon due to injuries he sustained from the assault dealt to him by the soldiers.

Major Niyi Osoba, spokesman of the 81 Division of the Nigerian Army, expressed displeasure on the incident. He disclosed that the division was already in touch with the Lagos State police command to provide a solution to the matter.

He added that culprits will be brought to justice after a proper investigation is carried out.

Police Arrest Man For Beating His Pregnant Wife To Death Over N500


A man identified simply as ThankGod has been arrested by the police in Rivers State for allegedly beating his pregnant wife to death in Port Harcourt area of the state. 

The unfortunate incident occurred on Wednesday morning, April 20, 2022 at their residence in Mgbuoba.

It was gathered that the deceased, identified simply as Ruth, initially moved out of her matrimonial home due to incessant beatings from her husband. But, however, returned home with her four children after he begged her and promised to turn a new leaf.

According to a source, “He beats her constantly despite several interventions from friends and neighbors alike. Yesterday evening, he gave her N500 to cook rice but the lady said she can’t cook because she was ill, and he started beating her again, even though she was pregnant with their 5th child.

Neighbors tried to stop him but he told them it’s a family matter, he dragged her into the house and kept heatting her. When he realized she was no longer breathing, he dressed her up and covered her with a wrapper and tried to run away.

His little daughter, however, raised an alarm and he was caught and handed over to the police. This happened around 2 am on Wednesday.”

A Nigerian man simply identified as Chris, stabbed his fiance to death, and thereafter committed suicide in their home in Victory Park estate in Lagos state on Sunday, June 21.
