Tragedy Struck As Gunmen Kills Man Few Hours To His Wedding In Anambra

Gunmen killed a man identified as Bright Ezechukwu, less than 24 hours to his wedding in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State. 

 

According to report, Bright had gone to pick up his fiancée, Chinwendu, in Ihiala town, accompanied by his best man and the chief bridesmaid, on November 22, 2024, when the tragedy occurred. 

Bright and Chinwendu's wedding was scheduled to hold for Saturday, November 23. 

 

It was gathered that Bright, his fiancée and two others were returning to the Uli community in the same Ihiala Local Government Area when the gunmen struck, shooting Bright d3ad.

 

Bright’s younger brother said: “Bright was carrying one of the bridesmaids, while his best man carried Bright’s wife. Bright was following the convoy of motorcycles behind. He stopped at Ezego junction in Ihiala to fuel his motorcycle, unaware that he was heading for death

 

“His best man and others who were riding ahead thought Bright was coming behind until they got to Abbott Boys Secondary School, Ihiala, along the Onitsha-Owerri express road. They discovered Bright was not following them and tried calling his phone, but it was no longer going through.

"Out of curiosity, the best man reversed and went in search of Bright, only to find him lying in a pool of blood at Ezego junction. Bright had been shot twice in the head along the Onitsha-Ihiala-Owerri expressway, just opposite Sky Prince Petrol Station near Okohia junction”

 

A witness confirmed that the unidentified assailants, numbering two and riding a motorcycle, shot Bright dead.

 

According to the witness, the assailants commanded Bright to stop and hand over everything in his possession, including his phones, belongings, and motorcycle.

“They took all his items and still killed him. Bright was a kind person who would readily give you his food for peace to reign. These hoodlums took everything from him, including the food in a flask they were going to eat that night,” the witness said. 

 

"Even when Bright pleaded with them to let him live, as he was about to wed, they shot him dead, denying him the joy of being a husband and a happy man."

Tragedy As Sex Worker And Her Customer Dies In Lagos Building Collapse

 

Some emergency officials have shared more information on some of the victims of the building which collapsed in Lagos on Friday September 23.

 

It was reported earlier that the house located at 2/4 Oye Sonuga Street, Palm Avenue, Mushin, caved in on Friday, killing four persons.

Speaking to Daily Trust, some emergency officials revealed that two of the victims, a male and female, were having sex when the incident occurred.

An official said;

“In fact they were naked when their bodies were recovered.”

Another official who spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorised to talk to the press, said;

“We were shocked by what we saw at the scene. The last two victims whose dead bodies were recovered were actually having sexual intercourse. The man was on top of the prostitute when the building collapsed. They both died.”

Another official revealed that the building which collapsed is a motel and the female victims were actually prost!tutes. He said;

“The place was used as a Club House/Motel and the female victims were actually prostitutes; the last female we recovered was with a man. They were having a nice time when we recovered them.”

A source added;

“We have to reach out to their colleagues there who are all prost!tutes to get information on the victims’ families.”

 

Tragedy: Cow Survives, Herder Drowns While Trying To Rescue It In Jigawa State

An 18-year-old herder in Jigawa State, has drowned while attempting to save his cow.

 

The incident occurred in the Buji Local Government Area of the state

Adamu Shehu, spokesman for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in the state said one of the herder’s cows slipped and fell into a pond while grazing.

He said the farmer allowed his cattle to graze while he worked on his farm.

According to Shehu, when the herder saw that one of the cows had fallen into the pond, he jumped into the pond and tried to save it but drowned in the process.

However, the cow was later rescued alive.

“But the farmer’s body was, however, not found until Sunday; 11 hours after he fell into the pond.

“The NSCDC examined the body and confirmed the farmer dead and handed the corpse to his parents,” Shehu said.

 

Tragedy: Yobe State Deputy Governor’s Daughter Dies Days After Losing Son To Accident

 

Tragedy has again struck the family of Yobe State Deputy Governor, Idi Barde Gubana, as his 16-year-old daughter, Khadija Idi Barde (Siyama), died a few days after his son died in an accident.

Khadija, who sustained injuries in the accident, died in the hospital on Thursday morning.

The Deputy Governor’s children were involved in an accident along Maiduguri-Kano highway on Saturday while travelling.

While her seven-year-old younger brother who was named after Governor Mai Mala Buni died during the accident, Khadija had sustained injuries and was rushed to a hospital in Kano State.

Siyama, before her death, was a Senior Secondary II student of Essence International School, Damaturu, the Yobe State capital.

As at the time of filing this report, her remains had been laid to rest according to a statement by the Press Secretary to her father, Hussaini Mai Suleh, which stated that her burial held at 4pm on Thursday at Mai Fune Emir’s in Damagum.

Tragedy As Unknown Gun-men Murder And Behead Military Couple On Their Way To Their Village In Imo State

 

Unknown gunmen on Saturday shot dead and then beheades a couple who were operatives of the Nigerian army.

It is reported that A.M Linus, a sergeant first class in the army and his lance corporal wife, private Gloria Matthew, were on their way to Imo State when the incident happened.

After beheading the couple, the gunmen were said to have called their family members to mock them in an audio clip that has gone viral. A gœry video of the incident seen by SaharaReporters showed the gunmen putting the heads on the victims’ chests after the incident.

“It’s so sad that we soldiers are no safer, the man was a member of the 19 regular intakes while the wife was of the 79RI. They were on their way to Imo state on Saturday when the incident happened. You won’t believe these gunmen as we speak still used their phones to make calls to their family members, making jest of them and threatening to kill them as well.

This couple just married recently, even their photoshoot caused a lot of criticism and seems they were punished for it.“

Tragedy As Jealous Wife Stabs Her Co-wife To Death Over Sex Turn With Their Husband

A 25-year-old woman Rebecca Nicodemus has been arrested for stabbing her senior rival, Precious, to death few minutes after sleeping with their husband.

According to The Nation, the incident happened on February 4, at their residence in Idogun camp, Ode-Irele, Ondo State. Rebecca was said to have been jealous that her husband left her in bed during an ongoing sex session to make love to the senior wife.

It was gathered that both women lived in a room and a parlour apartment with their husband. A fracas was said to have ensued between them when late Precious stepped out of the room where she slept with their husband. Rebecca was subsequently arrested and arraigned on a one count charge of murder before an Akure Magistrates’ Court.

Meanwhile, the suspect said it wasn’t her intention to k!ll the senior wife. According to her: “I came to Ondo State in January, 2022 and we were leaving in the same house. I am a farmer and we have been relating together in harmony alongside the deceased. On that fateful day, my husband was earlier with me in the living room but had to excuse himself on a pretext that we were not free to continue with our love making.

I was waiting for my husband when I discovered he was making love to the senior wife inside the bedroom. I also heard them making derogatory remarks about me. So, I waited in the sitting room for my rival to come out from the room and when she came out, I challenged her over her unkind words.

Rather than the deceased to be apologetic, she suddenly grabbed my clothes which made me angry. So, I took a kn!fe on the table in our sitting room and stabbed her at the back with the knife. It was not my intention to k!ll her, I over reacted in anger.”

Tragedy: 3 Teenagers Arrested For Killing Their Friend’s Girlfriend And Burning Her Head For Money Ritual

Police In Abeokuta, Ogun State have arrested Three Teenage boys for allegedly killing their friend’s girlfriend and  Burning her head for money ritual.

The suspects, identified as Wariz Oladeinde, 17, Abdulgafar Lukman, 19, and 20-year-old Mustakeem Balogun, allegedly committed the hideous crime in Oke Aregba community.

reports that in the early hours of Saturday, January 29, one Mr. Segun Adewusi, who is the community security guard, had observed that some four boys were b#rning something suspected to be the h#man head in a local pot on the road.

It was gathered that the security guard immediately alerted the police at Adatan station, who went to the scene to get three of the boys arrested as one had fled before police arrived.

A source, who confirmed the incident said the slain girl, identified as Rofiat, was a resident of Idi-Ape; she was a girlfriend to one Soliu, who is now in police net. He was said to have lured the girl to his room, where he held her down and asked one of his friends to sl#ughter her with a knife.

“Soliu was the boyfriend of the girl, he ran away, but was later arrested. They k!lled Rofiat, c#t her head, packed the headless body in a sack and started b#rning the head in a pot. They told the police in the presence of a mammoth crowd that they wanted to use it for money r!tual.”

Barely a year after his father died, seven-year-old Viano, battling cancer since he was a toddler, died on October 15 in the United States.

Tragedy Struck In Lagos As Many Feared Dead, Trapped After 21-Storey Building Collapses

 

According to multiple report, many people are feared dead following the collapse of a 21-storey building in Lagos State.

The incident occurred on Gerrard Road, in the Ikoyi area of the state on Monday.

The casualty figure could not be ascertained at the time of filing this story but many occupants of the house were believed to have been trapped.

It was learn that rescue teams had arrived at the Sene of the crash to save the injured persons and those trapped in the rubble.

Tragedy As Arewa Forum Chieftain Collapses, Dies In Kaduna Head Office

 

Alhaji Mohammed Sani Soba, a chieftain of the Arewa Consultative Forum, has slumped and died at the head office of the group in Kaduna State.

The National Spokesperson of the ACF, Emmanuel Yawe, made the disclosure in a statement on Monday night, saying that Sabo who departed to the great beyond was a retired permanent secretary from the services of the Kaduna State government.

According to him, “Alhaji Soba was serving with ACF on contract basis. Born in 1949, the late Soba obtained his school-leaving certificate in 1964.”

“He proceeded to study and obtain additional qualifications both at home and outside Nigeria in various fields especially administration and legislative studies.”

“He later became the Clerk òf the Kaduna state House of Assembly. His sudden death was grieved by all at the secretariat of ACF where he held sway as an administrative head until his sudden death,” Yawe said.

Tragedy As Man Plan To Bomb NNPC And NASS,Jailed For Two Years

A Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Lokoja on Wednesday July 23, sentenced a 35 year-old man identified as Mr. Godwin Adeoye for allegedly planning to bomb the National Assembly and the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

The indigene of Okene who resides in Obehira Ihima, Okehi local government area of Kogi State was arrested by the State Security Service on 13th May 2020, and arraigned in court over allegations of intimidation and threat to bomb national assets.

The magistrate, A .S Ibrahim noted that Adeoye was sober and pleaded for clemency after realising the enormity of the situation. He thereafter handed him a two year jail sentence with an option of fine.
